Happy Turkey Day to All..............
I can see that my GNO sisters did not get my email regarding our new blog site.
I'll have to try again to figure out how to get the site out to all as well as add pics, etc.
I'm hoping you all have a blessed day as we remember dear Flo as she works hard to heal as well as our dear Carolyn whose Dad is in the hospital and not doing well. So much is in God's hands.
Love to all..................

Mornin' Dear GNO's Ladies................
As I write, I'm thinking and praying for our sister Flo who just had gall bladder surgery. It seems that as we age, the old body has its problems and it does get scary. Flo has great support and will hopefully head home today to heal and enjoy some semblance of a Thanksgiving. I KNOW she is a woman of true faith and will be grateful her setback, physically, is over with. Louie will take good care of her so that she will be back in the classroom doing what she loves to do most - teach - as well as head to the casino to try and win big again!!! You go sister!!!
Also, I just left a message to talk to Carolyn to see how things are with her Dad.
The holidays can be a tough time with illnesses as well as caring for our elders. Each day can bring us challenges that we are not ready for or don't want to be ready for. But.....it is what life is all about. It's how we handle what comes our way. Hence the support of family, friends and many times.....strangers who I still believe are angels in disguise! Jude would agree with me on that one!!!
I have talked about writing a blog for a few years now and hopefully can get my GNO sisters on-board sharing pictures and talking about what is going on in their lives. Once one starts, it can truly be a great way of letting thoughts and ideas out that we all may have in common or don't but can be such a wonderful venue to opening up the soul and viewing life from another's eyes.
It's Thanksgiving time and with the cooking and cleaning of our homes and trying to fit in visits and other engagements we may have, we often fail to give ourselves the time to sit for a spell and think about what we are grateful for. I KNOW we all know what we are grateful for but to put it in words can help, and to visualize what's in our hearts, can be so gratifying. So here goes..........
Let me start with my Faith. It is a gift beyond words and has put perspective into my life's work. I have held many jobs and all of them helped me to see the big picture thus far. I'm grateful to be a Christian and a child of God. Nothing more and nothing less.
Friends - so many have come and gone, and many are with me today, but all are precious and have left me with impressions that have changed my life. We get to choose our friends and many times they choose us! It's strange how that can work but I feel someone else has a hand in this!
Family - we are given a family that we didn't choose but they are hopefully with us through thick and thin. Relationships take time to grow and family deserves this also - time to grow with each one of us utilizing the gift of forgiveness when called for as well as unconditional love. We do have people in our lives that are not our real relatives and are called "familia" as they hold special places in our hearts - we choose them and often times they seem to be closer than the real McCoys! Loving unconditionally and acceptance of our differences allows us to be true to ourselves and others. It gives the family members an honest look at who we really are. For that I'm grateful.
I'm most grateful for the food we eat, warm clothes, all the amenities we have in our homes, freedom of religion, a chance to work and do what we love, and coffee - Oh how I love coffee in the morning upon waking. Such a grand addiction. I LOVE America and what we stand for - freedom of life!!!!
Well dearest sisters, I am hoping to get this blog site to you all and figure out how to add pictures as well as you entering in and writing your comments, etc. If I see that another blog site would work out better, I'll switch and go from there. I'm hoping this will do for now. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving.
